Hi, everyone. Aiden here with each etrailer.com and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima OffGrid Cargo Basket here on our 2018 Toyota Yaris. Now we've got the three-door version of the Yaris today and it's a small car, even the five-door version is pretty small, and having something on the roof like a basket is going to really help maximize the space you have available to you, whether you're going on a road trip or you're just carrying some dirty cargo that you maybe don't want stinking up the inside of your vehicle, it's gonna really help having all this space on the roof. And unlike a rooftop box, a basket has the ability to stack things a bit higher. You're not so constricted by the space within the box. So long as everything is strapped down properly and is within the weight capacity. more

Now the Yaris is a small car and trying to maximize your cargo space, probably the better way to do that is with a roof basket. Roof baskets are nice because you can load them up with your extra gear and you're not height-limited like you would be with a box. You can have some more oversized items in here so long as it's strapped down properly and within that 165 pound weight capacity. more

It's gonna allow you to carry a variety of different items on your roof. Unlike a cargo box, which is enclosed, you can fit some of your more oversized items in here that might otherwise be too tall or too wide for a box. Yakima Roof Basket Review - 2019 Toyota RAV4- Video

We have our 2019 Toyota RAV4 and today we are test fitting the Yakima OffGrid Roof Cargo Basket.This is a great way to give us more cargo carrying room or capacity to our vehicle. Maybe we have all the seats filled, or our rear hatch area is full of cargo. We have more carrying capacity up here on the roof, we don't have to install a trailer hitch and add more length to the back, this is a great option for that.It has a total length of 44 inches and total width of 40 inches. That's external dimensions, so that gives you a good idea if you maybe fit a bike rack along with this. It also has a weight capacity of 165 pounds. more

Yakima Roof Basket Review - 2019 Toyota Tacoma- Video
John: Hey guys, John here from etrailer.com and today we have a 2019 Toyota Tacoma. We're test fitting the Yakima OffGrid cargo basket. This has a 165-pound weight capacity and it's a great way to add some more cargo space to your pickup. It has an overall length of 44 inches and an overall width of 40 inches, but internally you're adding here about 39 inches by about 38 inches worth of cargo area. You do have the integrated crossbars here you can kind of move front and back and the back end here is open. So it really opens up the possibilities of what kind of cargo you can fit.As you can see, we still have plenty of space underneath the cargo basket here to store extra stuff. more

Kuat Roof Basket Review - 2018 Toyota Corolla- Video
Speaker 1: Today in our 2018 Toyota Corolla, we're gonna be test fitting the Kuat Vagabond X rooftop cargo basket and two bike carrier, part number VX201.This measures 52 inches long by 41 inches wide, so there's plenty of space in the basket itself to store anything from your luggage, your camping gear, to your sporting goods equipment. Of course, at the front here, well you do have two skewer mounts, to carry up to two bikes.This does have a carrying capacity of 160 pounds, but you always wanna double check with your vehicle's manual to go by its weight recommendation when putting stuff on your roof.This does also have an extension piece, but for this particular vehicle, this size seems to be the best for that. It also has a fairing pre-installed at the front here, and that coupled with the aerodynamic shape of the basket itself, that's gonna help cut down wind noise and drag while you drive, and because of its positioning here, you're not gonna have an issue of clearance with our trunk and the basket either.Let's go ahead and show you how this actually installs. It's a very easy installation process. Our first step is you wanna take this plastic piece here, a bracket, that's gonna separate the basket from your roof rack system. Next, we'll take our metal bracket here, that goes up top. more

This is also a two bike carrier and it measures 52" long by 41" wide, so there's plenty of space to work with to store your sporting goods equipment, your luggage, your camping gear, whatever you want to take out from the inside of your Siennas to make a little bit more space. It also has an extension that is sold separately, so you have even more space to work with. You can find that on etrailer.com. And it's a very easy process to install it. It simply clamps around your existing factory roof rack, like you see here, but if you have a Sienna that has an after market roof rack, it will work with aero, elliptical, square, and round bars as well.And it also locks into place so it's going to be secure. more

Inno Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 Toyota 4-Runner, we'll be doing a test fit on the Inno Shaper 80 Rooftop Cargo Basket, part number INXA568. This cargo carrier features 41 1/2 inches by 30 inches by 2 inches deep of usable space.To get it installed, you need to be sure you have a minimum cross bar spread of 20 inches and also like to point out that we can still gain access to our rear hatch.To begin our test fit, I'd like to point out that I've already got three of the brackets in place and tightened down, as well as three of the square head bolts installed on our roof rack system. I'd like to finish the other one together. We'll need to gain access to the channel here in our roof rack system. You may or may not have to remove your end cap, depending on which roof rack system you have. So I'm going to remove mine so I can gain access. more

Malone Roof Basket Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner we're going to be test fitting the Malone Katahdin Rooftop Cargo Basket, part number MPG311. This cargo basket measures 61" long by 38" wide and has a carrying capacity of 165 pounds, but you always want to double check with your vehicle's manual to make sure your roof can withstand those weights. It's very easy to install. It simply clamps around our roof rack system, as you can see here, and has padding around it to make sure your roof rack system doesn't get any scratches or abrasions when you install it. The two bolts at the top do require an Allen key, which is included with our cargo basket. Today we have it around square bars, but this will also fit around round, elliptical, aero, and most factory style roof racks. You need a minimum crossbar spread of at least 25" and you need at least a minimum of 8" from the rear hatch so you can open it up completely, which, as you can see, we're not gonna have any issue of clearance with where we have it set up right now. This is great for transporting a wide variety of accessories, such as your camping gear, sporting goods equipment, anything that you're gonna be taking on the road so you can free up space inside your vehicle. It has a 150 pound weight capacity. Although it does have that weight capacity, you do want to check with your vehicle's owner's manual to make sure that your vehicle can withstand that much weight. I've gone ahead and adjusted our brackets using the included tool to loosen up our 2 bolts there. Adjust these for our crossbar spread and then tighten them down. I've already got it loaded up on the Rav4, just to give you a good idea of what it looks like. It measures 47 inches long, about 35 1/2 inches wide, and 5 1/2 inches deep. Now, when loading up anything on the roof of your vehicle, it's always a good idea to check and make sure you can still open up your rear hatch. As you can see, with the way we have it set up on our roof rack system, we're not going to have that problem. A few things to know about this roof mounted cargo basket, is it's a tubular construction, it's going to be able to free up the inside of our vehicle for more passengers and pets. Up here, we've got a nice fairing, so it's going to reduce that wind drag and noise while we're on the road. more

Today on our 2016 Toyota RAV4, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Curt Roof Mounted Basket. That's part number C18115. It measures 41 and 1/2 inches long, 37 inches wide, and 4 inches deep. If you'd like to pick up an extension for the Curt basket here you can pick one up sold separately, part number C18117. What that's going to do is it's going add an extra 21 inches here at the center. So if you feel the need to pick up an extension go ahead and do so. Like anything else that you might put on the roof of your RAV4 you always want to be sure you leave enough clearance so you can open up your rear hatch. more

Thule Roof Basket Review - 2015 Toyota Highlander- Video
Today on our 2015 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Cannon XT Rooftop Cargo Basket, part number TH859-XT. This has a carrying capacity of 150 pounds, although you want to double check with your manufacturer's recommendations to make sure your car can withstand the weight on the roof. It measures 49 inches long by 40 inches wide by 6 tall at its highest point. Its aerodynamic shape and fairing that is include also cuts down wind noise and drag while you're driving. With it installed in this position, you're not going to face any clearance issues between the hatch and the cargo basket itself. It's very easy to install. It simply just clamps around your roof rack system with these two knobs and this U-bolt. more

It measures 69 inches long, 40 inches wide, by 6 inches deep. You also have the option to remove the center extension which will reduce the whole total length by 20 inches. So if you chose not to have something as long you have the option to take that out. A few other feature to point out about this cargo basket, it's low profile rather than that boxier look that most cargo baskets have. more

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner, we'll be doing a test fit on the Rhino-Rack Roof Cargo Tray for Aero-Style Crossbars, part number RRRPBH-S280. It's 59 inches long by 25 inches wide. It's low-profile deign is going to help your vehicle maintain that overhead clearance. When strapping down and loading up your cargo, you just want to be sure and check with your vehicle's owner's manual to see how much your roof can carry. To begin our test fit, I'd like to point out that in addition to fitting our aero-style crossbars, it's going to fit the elliptical style and most factory roof rack systems as well. I've already got 3 of the clamps installed as you can see. Let's go ahead and do the 4th one together. What we'll do is we'll take the top portion of the clamp. We're going to put that just like that, and then we'll take the bottom plate. more

Today on our 2015 Toyota RAV4, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Canyon Roof Top Mounted Cargo Basket. This cargo basket is going to be part number TH859. It's going to be 49 inches long, 40 inches wide, 6 inches deep, and with a sturdy steel construction it's going to offer a 150 pound weight capacity. As you can see, we've already got three of the feet in place, two on the front and one on the rear. It's going to be mounted to the Thule AeroBlades but keep in mind that it does come with different u-hooks or u-bolts, such as these, to figure different roof rack systems. You'll place two of your wingnuts on the u-bolt with two washers on it as well. We'll then go ahead and adjust it by using the two Allen screws that are on each feet. more

SportRack Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2015 Toyota Rav4, we're going to be doing a test rate of the Sport Rack Vista, roof top mount and cargo basket. This cargo basket is going to be 44 inches long, 39 and 1/8 inches wide, have a depth of 6 inches, and with it's sturdy steel construction it's going to offer a 110 pound weight capacity. It does have the option of being extended if you wish. It's going to be part number SR9035. As you can see, we've already got three of the feet in place, two on the front and one on the back bar here. This roof rack system will fit most all of your roof rack systems with it's long U-bolt system they use to secure it down. We're going to go ahead and show you how to put on the last foot since they all go on the same way. Take your metal U-shaped bracket, place it over the top of your spacer block, that's in between your basket and your cross bar. more

Today on our 2013 Toyota Prius C we are doing a test fit of the Thule Canyon Roof Mounted Cargo Basket at 49 x 40 x 6 inches, it has a 150 pound weight capacity. The part number for that is TH859. Now we already have our brackets in place here - our metal brackets. We've got three of our clamps on and secured down with covers so we will just show you how to do this back one. So we have moved our foot into place. We have just used a tool like an Allen Key and moved those to adjust around our bars. So we just place this on making sure that our washers are sitting right above here. more

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner we're going to be doing a test fit of the Surco Safari 5.0 cargo carrier. This is going to be your roof mounted basket. It's going to be 50 inches long, 45 inches wide, have a depth of 5 inches, have a sturdy steel construction, and it's going to have a 250 pound weight capacity. It's going to be Part Number SPS4550-1101. The first thing with this rack is you're going to get it and you're going to have your feet separate. You're going to need to lay the basket up on your rack to determine your crossbar spread. Then you'll slide your feet on like so and get them spaced out evenly across your vehicle. more

SportRack Roof Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Sport Rack Vista Roof Rack Mounted Cargo Basket. It's going to be part number SR9035. It's 44 inches long by 39 and 1/8 inches wide, 6 inches deep and has a 130 pound or excuse me a 110 pound weight capacity. It has a sturdy steel construction and as you can see we have it up here on top of our aero bars and we already have 3 of the feet mounted. We're going to show you how to mount that last foot because all of them are the same. To do so, the first thing you're going to do is place the plastic spacer in between the bar and the rack at your desired location when you have your other ones or equal to where you want it. Next you'll take the metal U shape bracket like so with the 2 holes on either side. more

Yakima LoadWarrior Roof Cargo Basket Review - 2014 Toyota Sienna- Video
Today on our 2014 Toyota Sienna, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Load Warrior, a roof rack cargo basket with part number Y07070. With our Yakima Rail Grab roof rack system already installed on the Sienna, we'll begin our test fit by placing our cargo basket directly onto our cross bars. We'll then go around to each of the four clamps and remove the T bolt from the lower portion of the clamp, then place the upper portion of the clamps directly on top of our cross bars, bring the lower portion around the bottom, reinsert the T bolt. We can then tighten down both wing nuts to secure our clamp. We'll then move to the three remaining clamps and repeat that same tightening process. With all four of our clamps nice and secure, we're ready to load this basket up with some gear and we can hit the road. That will complete today's test fit of the Yakima Load Warrior, part number Y07070 on our 2014 Toyota Sienna. more

Thule MOAB Roof Top Cargo Basket Review - 2014 Toyota Sienna- Video
Today on our 2014 Toyota Sienna we're going to be test fitting the Thule Moab Rooftop Cargo Carrier, the mother of all baskets. Part number TH690XT. With our Thule Rapid Crossroads Roof Rack System already installed on the Sienna, we're going to begin our test fit by removing one of the wing nuts and bolts from the same side of all four of our clamps. We'll then place our cargo carrier directly onto our load bars. We'll want the upper portions of our clamp to be sitting on top of those load bars. We'll then bring the lower portion of the clamp around the underside of our load bar, reinsert the bolt, and thread on the wing nut. more

Thule MOAB Roof Top Cargo Basket Review - 2014 Toyota Yaris- Video
Today on our 2014 Toyota Yaris we're going to be test fitting the Thule Moab, a rooftop cargo carrier called "the mother of all baskets." Part number TH690XT. With our Thule Rapid Traverse Roof Rack System already installed on the Yaris and our Moab already assembled according to the manufacturer's instructions, we'll begin our test fit by placing the basket directly onto our load bars. We'll place it with the clamps either in front of or behind our load bars. In this case, we've done them in front. This will allow us to slide it into position once we have our clamps separated. We'll remove one of the wing nuts and bolts from each of the four clamps, slide our basket into position, bring the lower portion of our clamp around the underside of our load bar, reinsert the bolt, secure it with a wing nut, and then tighten both wing nuts down. Just like that our basket's installed and we're ready to load it up and hit the road. more

Now our vehicle's already equipped with a roof rack system, so we're ready to begin installing the basket. We'll place the basket on top of the crossbars where we'll then center it with the vehicle. Once we have the basket where we want it on the vehicle we'll use the included hardware to go underneath the crossbars and clamp it to the vehicle. With all our hardware tight our basket is clamped to the vehicle. We can then install the hardware covers and with the covers installed our basket is secured to the vehicle and we're ready to load it up. more

Thule MOAB Roof Top Cargo Basket Review - 2012 Toyota Highlander- Video
Today on our 2012 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting the Thule MOAB Roof Mounted Cargo Basket, part number TH690. To mount the basket, we'll set it up on top of our load bars. We'll make sure that it's spaced evenly on both the driver and passenger's side. Once we have our basket in the position, we'll fit the clamps from the underside and tighten them down from above with the wing nuts. After we've tightened down all four clamps, we can install our covers over the hardware. And with that our basket is installed and we're ready to load up. more

Thule MOAB Roof Top Cargo Basket Review - 2003 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on this 2003 Toyota RAV4, were going to be test fitting the Thule MOAB roof-mounted cargo basket, part number TH690. Our RAV4 is equipped with a factory roof rack, so were ready to go ahead and drop our basket into place. Weve already got it assembled according to the instructions so the next thing to do is lift it up on top of our roof rack. Well set the top halves of the clamp over our crossbars. Well make sure that the basket is positioned evenly from left to right. Well take the lower clamp, fit it around the bottom of our crossbar, and use the wing nuts to tighten the clamps down. more

Yakima LoadWarrior Roof Cargo Basket Review - 2012 Toyota Sequoia- Video
Today on this 2012 Toyota Sequoia, well be test fitting the Yakima LoadWarrior Roof Rack Cargo Basket, part number Y07070. With our basket already preassembled and our vehicle equipped with the manufacturers roof rack system, we can go ahead and set the basket directly into position on top of the roof rack. After we get the cargo basket on top of the rack and centered, well go ahead and use the clamps to secure the basket on the roof rack. At this time, well just run our fasteners down finger tight to secure the carrier on top of the rack. Now, well go ahead and make sure our basket is centered on the load bars and then well go back and tighten two of the fasteners to secure the basket to the roof rack. And there you have it. more

Today on our 2012 Toyota Sequoia we'll be test fitting the Thule MOAB Roof Top Cargo Carrier, part number TH690. With our vehicle equipped with the manufacturer's roof rack system and our cargo basket already pre-assembled we are ready to go ahead and install it on the top of the load bars of the vehicle. First, we'll install our fasteners to secure the clumps around the load bars. Once we install them, we'll just run them down finger tight. Next, we'll go ahead and center the cargo basket on the roofline of the vehicle. Now with our cargo basket centered up, we are ready to go ahead, and tighten and secure all of our fasteners. more
